Commercial/Ag Banking Officer

Overview
Under the direction and general supervision of the Market President, performs commercial and/or agricultural banking services for MWO customers with respect to the extension of credit and monitoring of the overall banking relationship. Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for commercial, agricultural and residential mortgage loans and banking services. Establishes an overall banking relationship through referrals of additional bank services. Learns and applies knowledge with respect to customer calling/servicing, banking compliance and lending policies applicable to Commercial and Ag banking.
Responsibilities
Learns and acquires knowledge and experience with respect to the credit function from application, to analysis, and through closing:
Interviews applicants for less complex types of commercial and ag loans through existing loan policy guidelines;
Collects and analyzes financial related data to determine the general creditworthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request;
Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan;
Submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation;
Establishes and negotiates where necessary the terms under which the credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule and collateral requirements.
Works with assigned support staff to compile the respective loan package;
Facilitates the negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.
Approves loan within specified limits or refers to loan committee for approval.
Works with the Home Mortgage Center to develop and close residential mortgage loans.
Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy and bank compliance regulations. Responsible for all documentation requirements for loans under his/her responsibility in conjunction with the Credit Administration/Loan Operations Departments. Assures timely loan closing and funding activities.
Works problem or delinquent loan accounts through the collection process in coordination with Credit Administration/Management personnel:
Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect from past due accounts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred plus 3-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
